The time has come again! It’s officially the best day of the week, Rosé Thursday. It gets even better, because ’tis the season for fall cocktails, and you know what that means. Time to get creative here, folks.
We couldn’t stop thinking about the taste of the Le Grand Noir Rosé that we used to created summer cocktails. The flavor is nice and dry, with a hint of tart cherry, and is one we needed to “try” again. So, we decided to bring it back this week with an Heirloom twist!
Yes, we love Rosé by itself but we especially love it mixed with a cocktail recipe.
October is approaching quicker than we thought so we’ve been getting ourselves into the fall spirit by tasting new seasonal bites and creating cocktail recipes. We’ve been dying to share this recipe with you because hey, you might want it on your custom menu this fall, and because it is just that good.
Introducing, the Whiskey Sour with a splash of Rosé (and lots of edible flowers).
Ingredients:
1 oz. of freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 oz. of your preferred Whiskey
A splash of simple syrup
Le Grand Noir
Now let’s add some style to this seasonal cocktail. In order to beautify the Whiskey Sour, we made edible flower ice cubes with a hint of Rosé (YUM). Edible flowers make for a great decorative (and functional) garnish. Just pour distilled water into your favorite ice cubes trays, add flowers, and freeze. It can be difficult to pick the right garnish for your cocktail, here’s how we did it….
As you mix all the ingredients of the cocktail consider the background flavors. Is it a zesty flavor? A little delicate? How about just the right amount of sweet and spicy….? With this specific cocktail the splash of the dry and delicate Rosé really had us inspired to add a floral accent. Plus, any excuse is a good excuse to use edible flowers.
We chose maroon, orange, and yellow flowers because we felt it complimented the deep brown of the whiskey. All in all, we liked how it looked like Fall in a glass.
This fall flavored cocktail has so much beauty! We hope that you feel the same way about this unique fall Rosé cocktail combination. Because just like that, Rosé Thursday treated us right, again. (No surprise there 😉 ).
Stay tuned because, yes it gets better than this…
