As you know, all of our stylish bites and custom menus are seasonally inspired. We thought we might share a little bit behind the scenes and some of our inspiration. We introduce to you a new series: Tis the Season. A series that will highlight some of our favorite seasonal fruits, veggies, trends, and inspiration.
Tis the Season for fruit and colorfully inspired cocktails. From Rosé with strawberries to Elderflower and lemon, we’re curating some refreshing and beautiful drinks to celebrate summer.
Strawberry Swing
This is a Rosé cocktail with a hint of pureed Strawberry. If you know us, we love our Rosé. We chose to use Le Grand Noir Rosé which is nice and dry, with a hint of tart cherry. By adding just a little bit of Strawberry, the tartness is balanced out with just a little sweet. Garnish with a Strawberry, and voila! It is the perfect cocktail for a breezy summer evening or a happy hour with friends! Tip: blend this cocktail with ice to make it a little extra thick and delicious.
Elderflower Twist
We have a little extra love for Elderflower, so we have fun adding it into recipes when we can. For this cocktail, you’ll want white wine, vodka, elderflower and lemon juice. Go ahead and measure out equal parts vodka and white wine. We filled a pitcher, so we did 2 cups vodka and 2 cups white wine. Then you will add the lemon juice and elderflower to taste. Shake it up with a little ice, and if you’d like you can add a little club soda to reduce the alcohol (or leave it a little strong, we won’t tell). Best enjoyed on a back porch with a sunset and a few light stylish bites. Tip: if you want to make it a little sweeter, add pineapple juice!
Sunrise and Tonic
The color that blood oranges bring to any dish or cocktail is just simply illuminating. Here we have combined gin, orange bitters, tonic water, navel orange and blood orange juice. The combination of these ingredients makes for such a refreshing cocktail, especially in this intense summer heat. Juice your oranges, measure out two cups gin, one cup tonic water, a few dashes of orange bitters, and add your juice. Adjust as your tastebuds desire, and garnish! This is best served with some ice and maybe a popsicle or two.
Tis the season for the celebration of summer fruits, the clinking of one of a kind cocktails with friends, and lots of color. And yes, sometimes we might style (play with) our food. Stay tuned for more seasonally inspired recipes! Cheers.
