When we heard that National S’mores Day was on the horizon, we got just a little excited. What is better than sitting around a bonfire on a cool night with the hum of friendly conversation while snacking on these gooey treats? We’ve played around with a few different s’mores recipes before, so we thought we would try out something with a little pop this time around.
We introduce:
S’mores Caramel Cracker Popcorn
What you will need:
- Graham crackers
- Caramel popcorn
- Semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Mini marshmallows
- Parchment paper
- A fun bag or container for sharing
Go ahead and measure out your ingredients. We suggest: 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips, 1/2 cup crushed graham cracker crumbs, 3 cups caramel popcorn (depending on how many guests), and 2 cups of mini marshmallows. Note: the fun thing about this recipe is that you really don’t even need to measure out the ingredients. You can just add as you go along.
Once you have decided how many cups of chocolate chips you would like, go ahead and melt them either in the microwave or on your stovetop. Keep an eye on your chocolate, you don’t want it to burn! Wasted chocolate, what a sad thought.
Next, go ahead and lay down your parchment paper. Lay out your caramel popcorn in one large flat layer in order to get a little chocolate on each kernel.
Drizzle on your chocolate nice and evenly, or at least try to 🙂 . Then go ahead and sprinkle on your graham crackers crumbs and some of those mallows. Tip: we suggest putting this in the fridge for just a bit to cool down.
Time to put those awesome little brown bags to use. Grab a spoon or (our favorite) miniature ice scoop to put your snack in the brown bags. Voila! Just like that you have created the perfect seasonal lunch snack or late night snack. We hope you enjoy, we sure did!
As always, stay tuned. Interested in more of our recipes? Take a look!
